Paris
In late January 2011, I had just moved to Paris and was still becoming acclimated to the excitement and isolation that accompany a long-term separation from friends and family. Throughout the next few months, I used this sketchbook as a reason to venture out, explore the city, and practice my speaking skills with passersby. Because drawing is familiar to me, the sketchbook allowed me to connect with such an unfamiliar place.
