Ripley portrait
This was a commission for some friends over the holidays. Isn’t he the sweetest?? I enjoyed trying to capture the gleam of Ripley’s shiny black fur, and of course the comical expression on his face. It was also fun to capture some architecture in the background; I don’t often get the chance to paint spaces. And the colors of the background are very much split complementary by chance; red, orange, and greenish blue. Ripley is the pup of a friend from high school; her husband reached out with an inquiry and I’m so glad he did. More detail photos here: pet portraits
